21st October 2018
To start this weekend off, Isle of Axholme (Epworth) Half Marathon was upon us which saw Helen and Charlie Luff take part. Excellent weather although slightly hot, (in October!), they finished with a time of 2hr02. Helen said she “…would definitely recommend it – small and friendly, cheap to enter and t shirt, medal and lovely pastries at the end.” What more do you need in a race! Well Done to you both!
Paul Jackson ran for his victory on Sunday at the Lunacy run in Hatcliffe in the Lincolnshire Wolds. The Lunacy Run is described by the organisers as “10k of undulating terrain with hills, woodland, water, ropes, climbs, on all natural obstacles. On completion you’ll become a fully-fledged Lunatic.” Massive well done Paul!
Alistair Frost of SADRC went to take part in the Cambridge Town and Gown 10k. Alistair Frost finished the course just under 45 minutes with 44:44mins, excellent running with support from his sister and niece.
The annual Thoresby 10 miler was this weekend, with the notorious amazing medal. Sally Cadle ran an incredible race knocking 6 minutes off her 10 mile time finishing in 1h44 Julie Goodwin also ran and finished with a time of 1hr40. Runs like this can’t run without volunteers, and it is always nice to help out on a race, if you can, which is what Victoria Edwards did, by helping and running as a tale runner to help anyone at the back. Thank you!
The Newark 5km Glow Run happened during the weekend which saw Rob Ster and Ian and Sonja Dexter attend with glow sticks, glow in the dark glasses and florescent tops! This was Sonja’s first and longest run to date, MASSIVE WELL DONE TO YOU!!! It was a great fun run which everyone thoroughly enjoyed!
SADRC trains at Horncastle on a Wednesday night at 6:30pm at the Bull Hotel. Spilsby on Tuesdays, Boston on Thursdays and Skegness on Fridays. Please contact the Skegness and District Running Club Page on Facebook for more information! Always welcoming new members!
