Skegness Members Robin Harrison and Michael Bruce travelled to Stoke on Trent for the ‘Stoke on Trent Festival of Running’ and took part in a 5km and Half Marathon race. Both Michael and Robin completed the 5km successfully on Saturday in preparation for the Half on Sunday. Both gentlemen ran the route together and finished under the half an hour barrier with 00:28:53. Sunday saw the half marathon, where Robin finished in a time of 2:06:42 and Michael was close behind in a time of 02:14:46. This run saw Robin reach his 230 run in a row, and described the run as “really, really hot and unbelievably hilly.” A testing route with unprecedented temperatures. Well done to both Skegness and District Runners.
Last weekend, the Casitor Running Club held its annual “Sting in the Tail” event. It’s a tough 10km with a mighty fine hill to finish with. 4 members of SADRC took part with soaring temperatures and a testing route. First back was David Sydenham in a time of 00:53:03 shadowed quickly by Christopher Hurst who finished in 00:53:24. Sally Cadle finished with 01:06:31 with Hilary Speller close behind with 1:07:58. Excellent results for a hard run! Well done SADRC.
