BOLINGBROKE BREAKER BROKE RECORDS

On Wednesday the ever more popular Bolingbroke Breaker had its first run for the year! And what a fantastic turnout. A massive 145 runners came along to support this run which is a record breaking attendance… even the chocolate ran out! 46 of these runners were members of SADRC!! PBs were broken (Sarah Thomas who ducked under the hour barrier for the first time and made herself a PB with a time of 00:59:27), first timers attended such as Katy Taylor (1:11:22), Lisa Smith (00:56:38) and Carol Daulat (1:10:52), the weather was great and a fantastic evening was had by all, First back was Mark Sands in a time of 00:34:36. Will Kelly ran a very strong race finishing 3rd overall with a PB time of 00:36:5 knocking 2 minutes off his previous time and Paul Jackson finishing 5th with 00:37:45. Molly Mckay was our first SADRC lady back finishing with a time of 00:49:33, Helen Blair followed behind with 00:51:45 and Charmane Holgate in 00:52:25.

It was that time of the year when SADRC descended on Liverpool for its famous Rock and Roll weekend.

On the Saturday, four runners, Robin (00:25:53) and Carol Harrison (00:34:18) along with Craig Tuplin (00:28:18) and Nathan Fisher (00:26:35) ran the fantastic 5km route which sees the finish inside the arena!

Sunday had both The Half and Full. Mark Sands finished in 4th position (2:45:01) a fantastic run, with only having competed in the London Marathon a few weeks ago! Jason Stainton ran his 2nd marathon this weekend, just finishing under the 4 hour barrier with a strong time of 3:59:27. Well Done to you both, another hot marathon day!

A couple of the runners had too much fun on Saturday and was egger to run the half marathon too. Robin Harrison finished in 2:11:20, Nathan Fisher in 2:19:55 and Craig Tuplin finished in 2:26:27. Great efforts after Saturday! Mark Lyon is coming back from injury after having the disappointing decision to defer his London Marathon place for next year! Mark ran very strong and finished with a fantastic time of 1:37:25 Leanne Rickett ran the musical scenic route in a great time of 1:46:43 and Helena Shelton finished with 2:45:56. Well Done to everyone!

A local 5km took place on Sunday in Market Rasen which saw PBs for all three SADRC runners. Angela Thomson ran a fantastic race finishing with a time of 00:23:10. Amanda Hodgson and Grace Clark ran their first official race in Skegness Colours this weekend both just dipping under the 39 minutes gaining them both PB’s. Congratulations Ladies!
